Recipe: Matcha Cheesecake

Calling all Cheesecake Connoisseurs! This Whisk recipe is for you. 

Treat yourself, family and friends to this rich, beautifully flavoured dessert that is still packed with the benefits of our Premium Japanese Matcha

Ingredients:

Crust

1 cup crushed graham cracker

2 tbsp butter, melted

Filling

2 pkg cream cheese, at room temperature(or microwave 30 seconds to soften)

⅔ cup granulated sugar

2 eggs, at room temperature

2 tbsp Premium Organic Everyday Grade Matcha 

1 tsp vanilla extract

 

Method 

Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.In a bowl mix together graham cracker crumbs with the butter. Press down the mixture firmly onto the baking tray. Bake for 7 minutes and cool. Reduce heat to 300 F degrees.

Mix the cream cheese and sugar in a bowl until smooth and add the eggs, matcha green tea powder and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth - but don't over mix.  

Pour the mixture to the crust tray or form and bake for 20 minutes.  Remove from oven and let cool completely (about 15-20 minutes). 

Garnish with whipped cream, fresh raspberries and light dusting of matcha powder, if desired and... enjoy!

    Whisk Matcha Chocolate Cups

    Sweeten up the Holiday Season with these delectable treats made with our Whisk Organic Everyday Matcha.  Using coconut butter adds to their perfect creamy and smooth consistency making these 7-step, bite sized snacks simply perfect for gatherings of any size! 

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup of white chocolate chips (or 8 ounce of white chocolate block)
    • 3/4 cup coconut butter
    • 1 teaspoons of Whisk Organic Everyday Matcha
    • 1 teaspoons of Cocoa Powder or chocolate sauce for a sweeter version

    Method:

    1. Use double boiler method to melt chocolate in a large bowl. Slowly add coconut oil one teaspoon at a time until mixed well.
    2. Line a mini muffin tray with paper inserts.
    3. Divide melted chocolate into 3 different bowls.
    4. Add matcha powder to one bowl and add cocoa powder to second bowl.
    5. Pour the base layer of melted chocolate (of your choice) into the paper inserts and place in freezer for about 5-10 minutes.
    6. Pour the 2nd and 3rd layers following the same directions.
    7. After the chocolate cup is set, gently remove the paper inserts and enjoy!

    White Chocolate Matcha Holiday Rum Truffles

    As we head into the Holiday Season we know how quickly calendars fill up with invites to festive gatherings and impromptu parties. No need to fret about what to bring to your next fête, our easy-to-make matcha rum truffles are guaranteed to add a ‘wow’ factor to your arrival (and make the perfect, tasteful gift your host won’t be able to resist).

    Ingredients

    Truffles:

    1/4 cup melted butter

    3 tbsp half & half

    40g white chocolate chips (we used Hershey’s brand)

    1 tbsp Dark Rum

    1 tbsp Whisk Matcha Everyday Grade 

    White Chocolate Dip:

    40g Hershey white chocolate chips

    1 tbsp melted butter 

     

    Method

    1. Melt 40g chocolate in microwave (stir in 30 second intervals
    2. Add butter, cream, rum and matcha powder into melted chocolate and mix well until smooth
    3. Cool the mixture and roll them into individual balls (refrigerate for about an hour until it hardens).
    4. Melt 40g white chocolate in another bowl in microwave (or double boiler if you have one)
    5. Add melted butter and stir until smooth 
    6. Using tongs, carefully dip matcha balls in white chocolate mixture and transfer to wax paper.
    7. Shake holiday sprinkles or roll in crushed Candy Cane pieces for added festive flare!
    8. Cool completely before serving

    Whisk Matcha Chiffon Cake

    Add a healthy twist to this moist and fluffy cake that’s always a crowd pleaser. Chiffon cake is a baker’s favorite due to its easy-to-make reputation, light texture and simple list of ingredients. Just a tablespoon of our Whisk Matcha Everyday Grade makes a welcome (fat free) and tasty addition!

     

    Ingredients:

    3 eggs

    1/2 cup brown sugar

    1 tbsp honey

    3/4 cup cake flour

    1 tsp baking powder

    1 tbsp Whisk Matcha Everyday Grade

    1/4 cup cold water

     

    Method:

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F
    2. Beat eggs for 8 minutes
    3. In the following order, add brown sugar, honey, flour, baking powder, matcha powder, and water to egg mixture while keep beating
    4. Pour batter into a cake pan.
    5. Bake about 25 min or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

    Matcha Lava Cake Brownie Recipe

    These bite-size treats offer up a unique twist on your everyday brownie and will more than satisfy the craving for something melt-in-your-mouth sweet. Adding a few spoonfuls of our Whisk Matcha Everyday Grade Powder to the mix up the nutritional factor so you can feel good about having more than one!

     Ingredients

    100g white chocolate

    3tbsp butter, softened (organic salted)

    5 tbsp. confectionary sugar

    2 eggs

    4 tbsp. cake flour

    3 tbsp. Whisk Matcha Everyday Grade Powder

     

    Method

    1. Melt white chocolate in microwave or by stovetop until melted
    2. Whisk butter, powdered sugar and eggs together
    3. Add white chocolate and rest of the ingredients to egg mixture
    4. Pour batter into baking tray or mini muffin tin
    5. Freeze one hour.
    6. Bake for 6 minutes at 400 degrees +1 minute broil to finish and cool before serving. 

    Note: if a larger size ramekin is used (instead of mini muffin tray), the center will remain liquid and watch for some beautiful matcha lava pouring out.
