With so many different matcha products available in todays marketplace, its more important than ever to be an informed consumer: especially where quality and health are concerned.
There is always buzz within the tea drinking world regarding the effects of radiation on Japanese tea. Considering a large part of Japan's agricultural region was affected by the fallout of the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant as a result of the Tohoku earthquake almost six years ago - its understandable.
Rest assured though: the main tea producing region where our Whisk Matcha is grown (Uji Kyoto) was never contaminated by radioactive isotopes. Farmers have taken the utmost precautions when harvesting and testing for trace/unsafe levels of radiation (beyond what is normal considering radiation is everywhere... even in the bananas you consume).
As well, you might want to consider signing up for our upcoming Matcha 101 Seminar on January 18th at the L'Atelier in Vancouver where you can meet Kimmy Xiao and ask her all about this and many other tea-related topics to live your best #MatchaLife.
