Last month I heard the news that Sakura-jima (桜島), an active Stratovolcano located in Kagoshima Prefecture, erupted (again) in Japan 🌋 . It brought back a lot of memories for me that I’d like to share, along with some fresh new matcha from Kagoshima Prefecture.

In 2018, I spent about 5 days in Kagoshima prefecture driving across farm lands and tea fields, plus a tea processing plant tour at Japan Agriculture Association in Chiran, Minamikyushu. I’ve learnt so much about tea agriculture and processing, and drank so much delicious matcha there!

So now I’m excited to bring the freshest Kagoshima matcha, EI-CHO ceremonial in 30g retail pouches in store and online.

Flavor profile: natural sweet nuttiness, grassy, umami, with a slight astringent finish.
