Hoshinomura (星野村), translated as Starry Village, is one of the most beautiful villages in Japan, located in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture, and it grows rare, one of a kind, most refined matcha in Japan. Nestled in rugged mountains, Hoshinomura has the ideal weather and soil for tencha and gyokuro production.
During our national-wide tea hunting in Japan back in 2018, we fell in love with this magical place - Yame. We're so proud to establish a close relationship with the most renown matcha processor in Yame who represents the best local growers and adopts the most traditional stone grinding and "Hiire (火入れ)" technique, bringing you the highest Everyday grade matcha on the market.

This grade is best use for baking and matcha lattes.
Matcha is sensitive to light and heat in general, so it's still recommended to bake in lower temperature or for a shorter time. Normal recipes do not call for enough matcha in quantity - it's recommended to increase the amount of matcha for a beautiful flavour and color.
Storage:
Best to store in an airtight, stainless steel container; keep in fridge/freezer after opening or in a cool shaded place. Avoid direct sunlight or high temperature.
