Dark Roast Organic Hojicha Looseleaf (焙じ茶)
Introducing this limited edition Organic Hojicha looseleaf from our tea farms in Kyoto Japan, this premium organic green tea has been slowly roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal producing a distinctive aroma and rich taste. It can be enjoyed as clear tea or make it into a latte.
Organic Hojicha will assist in digestion, strengthen immune system, reduce cholesterol, assist in weight loss, lower blood pressure, as well as relieve stress.
The caffeine level is relatively low, so it can be enjoyed at later of the day.
Deep, smoky and slightly sweeter flavour with notes of vanilla and caramel.
For clear straight up tea, the ratio can be 1 tbsp of Hojicha looseleaf per 12oz (355ml) hot water or to taste. First brew 30 seconds, second brew 1 minute, and third brew another 1 minute.
Our dark roasted Hojicha can produce at least 3 multiple brews.
For tea latte, the ratio can be 1 tbsp of Hojicha looseleaf to 4oz hot water brewing for at least 1 minute producing strong tea liquor, pour the liquor to a separate cup, and add steamed milk and/or sweetener to taste.
